Path 2 Heaven
Path 2 Heaven is a kinetic installation, and the name of the two robots which continuously drew during the first lockdown in 2020. The drawings produced are the result of the calculations drawn on paper by a machine while it traces the trajectories of the satellites mapping the Lithosphere above its head.
During the pandemic, our dependency on digital networks of communication became crucial. Only thanks to those satellites we were capable of enduring our daily-to-day life within the so-called new normality.
Path 2 Heaven (Path to Heaven) denounces all of the physical space the “cloud” requires to exist. It maps the reality that lies above our heads by acknowledging the hundreds of satellites that are blinking and floating in space, almost covering all of the surfaces of the earth. Providing us with more than 1000 channels of television, broadcasts, movie connection, and especially the entertainment we yearned for in order to lay aside the gloomy reality of living in a global pandemic.
Mapping the apparatus through which we picture the Earth; imaging the Earth through the optics with which we image it.
