Pillow Talk

Furniture for the children’s library of Palafolls

This project explores how architecture can shape human interaction, particularly in the formative spaces we create for children. The pattern of the pillows arise from a series of drawing workshops, where the children of Palafolls engaged with their surroundings and articulated their imaginations through art.

The large pillows, printed with these unique illustrations, will inhabit the library—an architectural space designed for learning and creativity. This blurring of boundaries between art, function, and architecture speaks to the ways in which children engage with their environment.

Inviting children to take part in the design of the furniture they will use inside the library. As they lounge on these soft manifestations of their own creativity, they are encouraged to see the library not just as a repository of knowledge but as a canvas for their thoughts, dreams, and imaginative exploration.

The “Pillows for the Children's Library of Palafolls” thus becomes an essential dialogue between space, art, and the young minds it nurtures, redefining our understanding of architectural engagement and community connection.
